MyLife offers a flexible visiting home care service, from as little as an hour a week up to several visits a day, every day of the week. If full-time support is needed you may wish to choose live-in care.

How does visiting care work?

Once you choose MyLife to support your loved one, we will visit you both in their home to ensure everyone is happy with their decision and so that we can create a personalised care plan. The more we know about the person we are supporting, the more personalised the service we can provide and the more specific we can be with the kind of person we offer to support them.

Depending on how often the visit requirements are for your parent/relative, there may be two or three MyLife Assistants allocated to support them on a rota basis.

The home care visiting support service can be paused for holidays and be topped up for times when a few more hours might be required; it’s entirely flexible to ensure that life carries on as usual.

The types of activities that can be carried out by a visiting MyLIfe Assistant can happen at any time of the day, from getting up in the morning, dressing and personal care through to preparing meals, washing and cleaning, looking after pets, securing the home and help getting to bed at night. Some everyday tasks might become difficult with age; for example someone who has been house-proud all their life may be frustrated not to be able to zip around with the vacuum cleaner, but a MyLife Assistant can do this, and do it under the instruction of your loved one ensuring everything is done just as they like it.

We provide a minimum of an hour for each visit, so this time can be used for a bit of cleaning, a game of cards, help with showering and hair washing, a trip to the shops or a good chat and a cup of tea if that is what’s desired. In fact, your MyLife Assistant will do whatever is required on that day. And, if you ever want a chat with us, there is always the office based support team on hand to answer any questions you might have.
